Deniz Reno is a Kazakh-born, Canada based artist whose architecturally influenced abstract work is distinguished by the use of various media and layers of texture, patterns and color. Her work is inspired by her travels and elements of her surroundings. Deniz Reno’s professional art career has spanned 25 years. At the age of 4 she participated in her very first group show at a national gallery in Almaty, Kazakhstan, followed by 24 more solo and group exhibitions in the next ten years internationally as a child artist. Reno has worked as a scenic painter and costumes assistant on over 45 feature film and TV productions in the past 12 years as Deniz Rakhmanova. Her credits include scenic art and sculpture projects for shows like Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities, Slumberland, Suicide Squad, Nightmare Alley, Shazam!, Pixels, Locke & Key, Resident Evil: Retribution and others. Her sculpture and prop work on Suicide Squad (2016) has been included in 'Suicide Squad: Behind the Scenes with the Worst Heroes Ever' Volume by Signe Bergstrom published through Harper Collins.
In 2020 and 2022 Reno has curated two instalments of The Fearless Nomad Series at Tropical Nomad, Bali, Indonesia. The first exhibit in 2020 featured a group show of six international artists from Canada, Indonesia, Italy, India, Chile and Australia. The second exhibit in 2022 was a fundraiser featuring the works of Balinese child artists - the students of Baturulangun Batuan School of Art.
